Sanctuary of Eucaristic Miracle-Lanciano The Eucaristic Miracle of Lanciano occurred during the 18th century. Tradition says that one day while a priest was celebrating mass he had a doubt concerning the presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucaristic. After the consacration of bread and wine, all of a sudden, in front of his eyes and the worshippers’, the Holy host transformed into flesh and the wine in blood. These relics were preserved in a cristal vase, and today are exposed behind the major altar in the church. |
